Helloooo Weekend!

First week of attachment is over! 14 weeks more to go. And I'm like the officeboy. It's confirmed that I'll be working for Procurement in the morning and after lunch, I'll be down in Productions. It's damn tiring facing the screen for like the whole day. There's no break from the computer.

Microsoft Excel and M**** are my new best friends now. I see spreadsheets every minute of the day. And Movex, their program to track stocks of the goods, raw materials and what-have-you is a damn complicated software. And it's damn lag.

Have to complete lots of data entries for Productions. I have to input data of (i think) at least 5 years. I was done with this year's data, from Jan to Aug when Alvin, Production's Assisstant Manager, told me to prepare a spreadsheet for 2006 and that he'll be there shortly. He never came. But Alex, another of Production's big boss said he wanted a 'time duration' column to calculate the time spent to manufacture the products. It could've been easy if Excel made my life easier. But it can't calculate time that has crossed more than 24 hours. So I have to do it manually and it is so tedious. After a while, I find myself falling asleep amidst all the noise coming from the Packaging room even though it's just next door and I'm in an airlock room. Hopefully things will be more interesting for me in Productions rather than doing monotonous data entry.

The people in Procurement are nice. And Teochew is becoming one of my language of conversation in that department these few days. Generally, the people there are quite ok. People keep getting me mixed up with Jack from QA because of our similar built and hairstyle.

I finally understand why they say working life has no life. It practically drains your energy away so much so that you have no more strength for social life. Here's a typical work day for me:
- Wake up at 5.30
- Walk to the bus stop to take company bus
- Sleep on the way to work
- Have breakfast
- Start work
- Lunch
- Work
- Bus journey home
- Have dinner (and probably fall alseep on the couch after that)
- Go online for awhile
- Sleep by 10 or 11.

and the cycle repeats throughout the whole week (except for Thursdays). Looks like my exercise regime would have to be put on hold. And ya. I've been putting off my crunches too. Zeke is probably tired of getting me to do crunches every night.

Time to get rest now. And to enjoy the weekend before week 2 of IAP starts. *groans*

IAP: Day 1

Today's day 1 of attachment. Many more days to go. When I left my house this morning, I thought I had ample time to spare when I reached the office. I ended up being there at 8 when my reporting time was 7.45. The bus ride to Boon Lay was ok. But the queue for the feeder service in was horrendous! The queue was like a mega snake. And to make things worst, people cut queue when the bus came. It's like it defeats the whole purpose of having a bus queue if people are going to cut them eventually. Nonetheless I got on the bus but I dropped 3 stops earlier. I had to walk quite a bit and just when I was one stop away from my office, the next bus was behind and I hopped on.

When I got there, the person I was supposed to report to wasn't even here yet. In the end, when she came, we settled some paper work and was brought to the QA department. Did some packing and rearranging. And we went for lunch. After lunch, I was sent to Procurement department. Although the factory looks small on the outside, inside is actually huge! While walking from QA to Procurement, I had to climb 3 levels, past the head office, into the warehouse and then to the Procurement department. And below Procurement is where Manufacturing, Production and Logistics are located. Hopefully I get the chance to go take a look around. No chance to do so because everyone is busy with the internal audit and there was a safety inspection today.

Was made to do paper work in Procurement. And I have a desk. Hopefully it's permanent. The staff next to me, Shirley, was like a mother. Very chin chai type of person and very nice. And patient too. Was on the bus with her on the way back and found out that Procurement is made up of only 5 people and each one running different stuffs (like their own department) and they have to work interlink-ly with one another. And they're like the top of the process chain. Anyway, heard that I'll be shuffling between 2 departments: Procurement and Production.

Hopefully it'll be more fun tomorrow. And it's bed time for me!

Here's a song, Good Morning Baltimore, from the movie Hairspray. Somehow, I just feel very entertained by this song. Like it very much. I don't know why but I just do.

This is the corridor the changing rooms of the concert hall. Earlier on, I made a wrong turn and walked to the changing rooms of the theatre hall. That's how big the place actually is. There's about 10 over rooms per hall and there's at least 2 levels. So, do the maths.

This is the room. Complete with attached toilet, lockers and cloths rack.

The toilet even comes with an equipped shower.

And the dressing table is like so diva-ish.

The view of the concert hall as a performer.

Beautiful Sunday

Beautiful Sunday is at last over. All the preparation that took so long, just ended with that one hour. The back stage was really a huge place. I actually got lost inside the maze and took me quite awhile to find my dressing room.

Rehearsal went on pretty well and the feeling of playing in such a wonderful place is great. During lunch, we were at the Green Terrace and there were the casts from the King and I just relaxing a bit before their show. It's like damn cool.

On stage, I can't believe it. I actually had stage fright. Ya. Like this is my dunno how many -eth performance and I still have stage fright. My cheeks were tired and they were in a state of cramps. So were the lips. My embouchure wasn't there and I have no idea why tonguing all the notes made the mouthpiece so wet and slippery. Couldn't play well at all. I found myself just blowing air during the last chorus of 'Home' onwards. I think I screwed up my responsibility as a performer pretty bad. Overall, I liked the sound and balance of the band. There were lots of positive comments.

I didn't realise that a few of the NP band-its were sitting right above me and they shouted from above when it ended. Was really glad to see them. Would really like to thank Wei Kit, Aloy, Benjamin, Ke Xin, Ling Li, Belinda, Michelle, Katherine, Cindy, Gregory, Ken Wong, Shao Xuan and my sis for turning up. It really meant a lot. But the most surprising person who came was Darren Leow.

This dude, my long lost but now found-again friend, turned up. Really unexpected and words fail to describe what I feel. He is a real gentlemen. Don't ask me why but that's the impression he gives me from the way he talks and stuff. I've another best friend, Tang. We've been like buddies in p1-3. He also left SAPS for another primary school. Leow and Tang actually met up last night. And they took a picture. Darren even recorded a short clip of Tang and sent it to me. Tang still has that trademark smile will all the teeth. Haha! But his voice, is just so different. Definitely not the kiddy voice back then. Oh man. Can't wait for the day that we meet up and catch up on old times.

Well, some pictures from Beautiful Sunday would be uploaded soon, when Blogger has decided not to be screwed up. But here's a picture that Leow and Tang took last night. Just in case you guys are wondering who they are..

Fever broke last night. The sore in the throat is gone but turns out to be rather phlegm-y. Feel that it's pretty tight. I hope tomorrow's concert won't be a screw up. A bit kan-chiong going to perform in such a grand place. And it'll probably be once in my lifetime.

I finally got darren's msn. My long lost p3 friend. And a few more other people's contact whom I thought I would never get in touch with when they changed schools in p3. So far I've only chatted with Darren. Have yet to see the rest online. Kan-chiong kan-chiong!

Last night, on my way home, I think I've been deceived again. Perhaps I might be oversensitive, perhaps I have read the body language correctly. Then again, ignorance would be bliss. Shan't delve too much into it. And maybe, in a few months, I should just step away if my confirmations are correct.

So many things happening around me now. Can't help but feel that.. It's probably just karma. I'd really wish I have a short vacation. Out of Singapore. A place to enjoy myself. And, with beloved company..

The flu's here. Worst time to get it. Not when concert is this sunday. Been sneezing and sniffling, coughing and having a super bad sore throat. And there's LSSS test tomorrow and I've no clue what I have to study. Everything provided seems so so vague. Feel damn sian now. Plus I didn't gymmed this week. Feel so lazy coupled with the lack of motivation. Am kind of guilty now.. Recently I realised I've gained weight. No longer do I belong to the under-50kg category. I've crossed the 50kg line and I feel awful. No, it's defintely not a gain of muscle mass. Eh.. Someone motivate me to exercise can?

On Monday, I wore berms to school. For the 2nd/3rd time this sem. Caused quite a stir with Sandy. Haha. She said I looked good and white's my colour. Made me a tad happy after the awful week that passed.

Well, I have got to be adjusting my sleep cycle now. No more late nights. Have to get used to sleeping early and waking up early. Attachment will be starting soon. Which means I have to be up early every single morning. So, HELLO to early nights.

As silently as you crept in, as quietly as you left. I'm waiting for an explanation. It's never too late for one.

Had an absolutely lousy weekend. And it's still dragging on. Feeling jaded right now. So tired of all that's happening. I was, it seems, just taken for a wild ride.

Now, I dread going for attachment after hearing what Royston said. Let's hope it's not true. Gopi is going to the same place as me and I'm having mixed feelings about it. I really wonder what lies in the weeks ahead. Exams are nearing. And I just have no mood to study. Totally given up on examinable modules. I just don't have the knack of memorizing things. I lack the motivation. I did, momentarily, but I guess it's all gone now. Just living the day as it is now... Till I find something to look forward to..

So, Brian, it's time to pick yourself up and move. No point dwindling here.
